Thermal Ceramics TR-19 Blocks?

Does anyone know whether these type of block from Thermal Ceramics would be okay to use as the insulation under the brick floor? They seem to be pretty cheap. This is the info from the website: http://www.thermalceramics.com/upload/pdf/1014-100.pdf

I would goes to directly to the source and give the company a call and ask them directly about how you want to use there product and if they would recommend it for your application. Would you post some pricing if you have that information available, and please do post what you find from the company if you take that route

Rich is right, it is always best to call the manufacturer.

Just by looking at the thermal numbers, the material looks OK. But, the insulating properties of Thermal Ceramics other product, Ceraboard is much better, half the thermal conductivity. See

Also Insblok 19 has half the thermal conductivity as well, and I know that to be very economical (I used it) , but need to use a respirator to work with.

Hi Tony,

I used a different ThermalCeramics product for my insulation base. I called their 800 number to ask some questions and they connected me immediately with an engineer that works with the product. Their customer support is excellent.

Definitely give them a call.
