  • cellulose insulation

I was reading in a previous thread that cellulose (either ground up newspaper or cellulose insulation) can be mixed with concrete to provide insulation for the dome of the oven. First, i would like to know if this is a good idea and second, i would like to know if anyone has tried this method and what the results were.

    Re: cellulose insulation

I don't think this would work.

Why bother when either perlite or vermiculite can be obtained fairly cheaply ?. Both these products are "expanded rock" and are heat proof.
