1, 2 or 4 zone Thermocouple and Pyrometer

I have finally settled down to finding a thermocouple solution that we will be selling through the FB Store, and of course there is a range of alternatives.

I think there are a couple of certain items. Type K thermocouples, 6' cable, digital display and battery operated.

Would it be better to have a less expensive (and less complicated) single zone, single thermocouple display, or a more expensive two (or even four) zone display.

I am posting a poll to see what you think. I know we have talked about this in the past, but it's time for me to make a decision and get going. Thanks for taking the time to vote.

James, even though I have purchased my thermocouples, I have yet to get the digigal display unit. My own suggestion without usage is to have two zone. If someone has three or more thermocouples, they can interchange them to get readings. Is this a good idea? Experts from usage, please interject.

two is a happy medium

although i wouldn't mind having 4 or 6 or 8 .....

Two gives you what you need to know.
BTW I have 2.... one in the dome and one in the floor.
They usually are about 50 degrees f apart... after a resting period

That's a good question.

I am leaning toward a permanently mounted and wired temperature display. There are a lot of portable monitors out there, that look and work like test equipment. I am leaning toward a set up that looks more like a fixed oven temperature gauge.

That would make it more difficult to mess with the connectors in the back.

I will keep you in the loop on what I learn.
