  • liquid to harden insulation blanket??

    Hi
A local modular kit uses a product (no idea what it is) to spray onto the insulation blanket to harden it so as to allow the stucco to hold without using straps/chicken wire. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Would the hardener reduce the insulation effectiveness?
    Thanks.

Re: liquid to harden insulation blanket??

This is the stuff, or something like it. At thirty four bucks a gallon (I don't know what the amount needed is) you can buy a lot of chicken wire. Many people use a layer of perlite/vermiculite concrete on top of the blanket to increase insulation and create a rigid, smooth layer for the stucco. Remember: the blanket doesn't go on in a smooth hemisphere, it's all bumpy and lumpy from bending and overlap. In any event, the people who sell it will know if it affects the insulating properties of the blanket.
