Forgive the newbie question. I did do a bit of searching on the forum and didn't find the answer. If I were able to get hold of a stainless steel dome, why are folks putting a layer of refractory over their metal domes prior to the insulation? Couldn't you just go from metal to insulation to stucco (or other finish)? Thanks! This is an awesome board with great help and information.
