Yeah if its not balanced it would for sure want to do a somersault...You live and you learn...but probably was still faster than building and removing a frame to pour in place...You had the right idea.

Too late now, but you can lower the slab onto ice so you can remove the straps easily without damaging the edge of the slab. In addition the ice enables you to shift the slab relatively easily for final adjustment as well as being able to squish some mortar in the gap before the ice melts.

Nice..we use precast pads like that for pad mount utility transformers. Glad you installed it on the base with no harm. Seeing thise ratchet straps worried me..we usually use slings in the those cables that are looped out of the precast as they are poured in and you don't have to lift to get the straps out....Your well on your way to getting thst dome started.

Don't be a dum dum like me. Pour your concrete in place. Smaller precast is fine. Bigger concrete is dangerous. You need to have friends with heavy equipment.

11 bags of 80LB concrete mix + rebar + water.
