  • Roof and covering!

Hey! Im starting to build my 42size oven next week! In norway we have a lot of rain! So my question regards roofing: do i need to build a roof? Or can i use waterproof concrete to cover te dome! Plan is to use fb blankets, then pertlite/sement mix and then some sort of waterproof concrete!

And if doiing so: do i need to cure the oven before adding the waterproof concrete?

    Thanks!

Hi..You can use a waterproof coating but nothing beats a covered oven.

i agree with Ricky. The best way to protect your oven is with a roof and enclosure. The igloo design seems like it is best in a very dry environment.

If you have the room and budget it is worth building at least a covered pergola, that way you can use it in all weather's.
I was building my dome while we had an extremely wet August in England. I plan on adding some waterproof curtains so it can be used during winter too.
