  • Oven wall thickness

l know the normal is cutting a 9" brick in half to give a wall thickness of 4.5".
    My fire bricks are 12" * 6" * 3" . so I could get six 4" * 3" * 3" out of each brick.

Is 4" Ok or would it be better to go thicker or longer?
Maybe 6" long and taper the ends, so the inside is 5" and outside 6"?

You can go with either if you want or need to. The thicker option will take longer to heat up to pizza temperature and use more wood. The thinner one will takr less wood and arrive at temperature sooner. The thicker one will also hold more retained heat. But as long as they are fire brick you should be ok.

Thank you. I didn't get any replies so went with six bricks at 4".
