  • Pilot super duty fire brick

Aloha.... I read the forno bravo brick article and they say use medium duty fire brick for the oven floor and walls... density 135... the article also states stay away from heavy duty bricks... however I see a lot of guys here actually use heavy and super duty bricks... in my case it looks like I have the opportunity to get these bricks below

Pilot DP super duty fire brick density 136-142, size 12”x12”x3” 16.95$ a brick....

thoughts on these bricks? Is 3 inches to thick or just right? I can get these bricks in the 2 1/2 inch size but thinking 3 inch might be better... the density of this brick pretty close to recommended medium duty? More silicate and alumni.?? I don’t have a lot of brick options in Hawaii so thinking this is what I’ll be purchasing... Thanks you..

    2.2 g/cm3?! That's a good choice for all-round cooking.
