Hello all,
Long time reader, first time poster. Please let me know if I'm not posting on the right page.
I poured my 20cm final keystone in the top of my dome. I used a 2:2:1 mix of refractory mortar: crushed fire brick: cement fondu. I wrapped it in cling wrap and let it dry for a couple days. It seems the piece has hardened now but there is cracks surrounding its circumferences and im doubting its integrity.
Any advice would be much appreciate. Ideally I'd like to avoid removing and recasting it if its safe enough. If theres any chance it cracks and breaks through after firing it up I guess that would be pretty disastrous.
Thanks in advance.
Julian
