  • Can I build the tuscan style bread oven in my kitchen?

Hi everyone.I am going to be building a house in Ireland very soon and really want a tuscan style bread oven in my kitchen.I have downloaded the oven plans from the forno bravo site and am going to get my builder to look at them.Has anybody built one indoors and is it easy to do?

Yes, you can build an oven indoors, but you must get a building permit for one that is part of a building, instead of freestanding. It has to conform to masonry fireplace code, regarding clearance to combustibles, footings, masonry hearth, subsidiary air inlet, damper, etc. You can find the applicable code at rumford.com

You want to be sure to have a properly sized flue for interior use: you don't want your house to be full of smoke.
