Fiberglass for FB

Hi can you tell me if fibreglass insulation is OK instead of FB i have been told that FB can breakdown after time and become a danger. Thanks

There are mineral wool insulation boards and blankets made for refractory use that work fine. Plain domestic fiberglass: not recommended.

I've never heard of calcium silicate boards breaking down.

Hey all,

I moved this to Getting Started.

Don't use fiberglass -- it will scorch, turn black, smoke and smell terrible. Been there. :-)
