  • Wood Stove Fire Brick

    Hi All,
I have found many places selling wood stove replacement fire brick. Claiming to hold temperatures over 2000 Degrees. Are these acceptable for use under the hearth for insuling under the fire brickfloor ?

Thanks to everyone for all the useful information i have found so far. I have my slab poured, my base walls are built and hoping for good weather this weekend to pour the hearth slab.

    Re: Wood Stove Fire Brick

If you are in NJ, you should talk to Progressive Brick in Hasbrouck Heights, they have the least expensive firebrick that I've heard about. They have the scarce "red" firebricks, too, for the same price.

Most woodstoves are lined with thin "splits" which are expensive, and too thin for what you need.
