Dino Thanks here is the web site Custom Glass Replacement & Cutting Services - One Day Glass they are very helpful and after a coworker and I made the frames I made a template made of poster-board and sent it to them. This helped with the glass being the correct size. The frames were then Powder Coated at a local shop. I then bought a MEECO brand of High Temp Silicone Sealant with a temp range of -75 F to 500 F. Then I placed a large layer of caulk and set the glass, caulked behind the glass then left it alone for a week. They look and work great.

Great job on the glass and metal doors. Did you fabricate all of it? What kind of glass did you use?

Both the oven opening arch and matching wood storage arch look great. Very nice looking oven.

Very nice detail on your suspended slab rebar. That is exactly how it should be done. Many builders make the mistake of not bending the ends of the bars (either down like yours or sideways).

Great looking project and impressive workmanship. I too live in Virgina Beach and hope to start my on 42" WFO this Spring. I have had no luck in finding fire regulations for Va Beach as to dwelling clearances for WFO and the city building permit folks have been of no help. Any suggestions? Also what is a good local source for fire brick and morter.?

Hey Glenn, that's an amazing door! Can't wait to see it finished.

I really admire that you've got your counter top done and a framed steel door already and most of us lazy guys put that stuff off until the very end (if we ever do them at all .

Very nice build, everything looks great. It looks like you've made narrow slits along the bottom of the double outer doors for air-intake?

I just found your build this morning and really enjoyed following how you built your oven. I'm working on the transition to the inner arch at the moment. Look forward to getting above that. I like your entry and how you tied the bricks to the inner arch. I had something like that in mind, now I have a picture of it. Thank you,

It has been a while for posting photos. I hope everyone has had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I found Travertine tile pavers at Home Depot. They have worked great so far. The door and the oven has come to a grinding halt. I hope to start soon on it when the weather changes. Glass door inserts, roofing and finish the exterior.

The first few pictures are of the doorframe with the hinges mocked up. Once attached they would be cut down. Tip. The doors were made as one unit. Cut almost in half. Welded up and then the cut was finished to complete two doors.

I started on the frame of the glass door. Paulie did the welding and I became an excellent grinder! The first mock up of the frame and door. The tabs allowed for secure mounting.
