  • About to Start a Pompeii oven soon

    Hi all,
As title suggest, hopefully it will be in the next few months, still have to do some prep work in the backyard, but I have decided on a 42" diameter pompeii style brick oven.

Since I am new to Brisbane, more precisely, nortern suburbs, I was wondering if people can tell me of locations for fire bricks, mortor, vermiculite and insulaton blankets from.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Zippa92 and welcome aboard.
There are numerous members from Brisbane (5 that I have on my list), who can better guide you as to the best brick and other material suppliers. Hopefully they will chip in to help you.

    Cheers.

      Hello Zippa92
Welcome. I'm at Burpengary. Did my first pizzas last Sunday. You must build one of these magic ovens.

Re: About to Start a Pompeii oven soon

Hopefully will get to start soon.
Have wanted to since moving back from living in Europe for 5 years, but was never going to be possible in Perth, as we lived inner city in a higher lvl apartment.

I have however, never laid a brick or concrete before, but am quite determined now since a workmate doesn't think I can do it since I have never done it before.
