  • Rough surface on Casa2G100 cooking floor

Started installing oven yesterday and have question on cooking floor. Both sides of floor peices are rough, similar to course sandpaper. Is that normal? Any way to smooth them out? Concerned a raw pizza dough will get stick on the bumps.

    Hi lbeauc,

I know that we are talking with you through email, but I want to confirm that the rough surface of the firebrick tiles is very typical -- and not a problem at all. The tiles are the perfect surface for cooking bread and pizza. The dough hits the hot tile and the moisture in the dough is quickly converted to the steam that is one of the most important aspects of brick oven cooking.

Take care curing your oven -- your patience will be greatly rewarded!
