  • Vermiculite Insulation

Does anyone know if the Therm-o-Rock Vermiculite at Home Depot is suitable for use to top the blanket insulation over the dome? Dome will be enclosed in a walled structure.
    Thanks

    Re: Vermiculite Insulation

If you are making an enclosure then the vermiculite is better added loose and dry.i would imagine any vermiculite or perlite would be suitable.

I did a quick search of HD and see that their price is $20.97 for 2 cubic feet of medium gradeThermorock. Just last week I bought 2 more (4 cubic feet bags) of course grade for 23 bucks. My first couple of bags was about $19, so they have gone up in price in the last year. I get mine from a local nursery. I think that if you find an independant local nursery in your area that you may be able save a few bucks .
Edit: That was $23 per four cubic foot bag.
