  • Reconditioning Refractory Oven

I have had my refractory WFO for about 11 years now and the inside is starting to show signs of cracking and the surface is very uneven and pitted.

Is it possible to recondition the inside of the WFO and get it smooth and like it was when it was installed. Or, is this perhaps a natural part of the ageing process for a WFO and should just leave it as it is. It still seems to cook OK?

    Gudday
    Ditto with what Mick said
but if you just can't leave it alone just one experimental patch better on the side of the oven you put you fire and watch it for a while. If it falls of no damage done
