My masons used fire clay to fill in the gaps between the floor tiles and between the tiles and the dome. I read on here that you should not use any mortar on the inside of the dome. My mason tells me this is not mortar, it's fire clay--I'm still worried. Do they need to remove it? They JUST did it and they said they could scrape it out.
