Do you use the Forno Bravo remote thermometer?

We received a remote thermometer with our gas Forno Bravo casa 80 pizza oven. The instructions show a picture of the thermometer but no indication on how to use it. We don't know how to install it or if we even want to use it. Does it work well or should we forgo it and use a different kind of thermometer?
