  • Casa 90: Adding insulation to door?

I bought a Casa90 a few years ago. It works great but one shortcoming is that the door is not especially effective. The oven loses a little too much heat too quickly and I suspect the door (which gets >500 F on the front side) is a significant reaon.

Has anyone who has bought a Casa kit modified or replaced the door with something better insulated? If so, how did you do it?

There is a thread called "show us your door" that has all types of doors done by builders.

I was going in-between buying a casa2g and a premio2g. When I contacted support they said I could buy an insulated door for the casa2g in lieu of the standard door. I think basically what you would need to do is get the rigid ceramic fiberboard insulation, similar as to what is under the oven, and sandwich it in-between another piece of metal to fit.
