After reading the abstract and sections of the patent itself, I would amend the title of this thread to read; "Some has patented a type and method of creating a cast dome oven". Interesting find, sonomacast :-)

In particular the author is patenting his attachment of the interior refractory to an outer shell thru the insulting layer using "pegs" welded to the steel shell passing thru the insulation and embedded in the refractory, creating what the author contends is a structurallly sound oven. Unless one is contemplating forming a business building WFOs using his method or idea, I think one has little to fear from litigation.

And as for those who are wishing to build a one off for their own use even using his idea there is no fear for that is permitted with patents. Besides IMHO his idea has failings, the biggest being the steel supporting dome should be on the inside, not the outside.
