General advice is that ovens are not recommended for heating salt blocks if the intention is to cook steak I would suggest a Tuscan Grill or directly onto the coals caveman style
i tried using Himalayan Salt block it work yes it add saltiness, it get salty if you activate got mine from (Himalayan Rock Salts .com) i also have a smaller one for my sushi presentation
