  • Questions About this Clay Pizza Oven

Not entirely sure if this is the right section to post this in, kinda new here. Anyway, I was looking around for a somewhat easy and cheap way to build a DIY woodfire pizza oven. I stumbled upon this video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7p-uAm6hMcU which gives a brief overview on how to make a very simple pizza oven. I was wondering if something like this would be able to get up to and sustain the temperatures to cook a Neopolitan-style pizza. With so many other more complicated designs it seemed a little to good to be true for one as simple as this one to work as well. Thanks for the help!

You can do anything you want...Put on sunglasses and pretend it is dark out. There are many ways to build a WFO and one thing is sure...the more time and effort you spend on the build, the more likely you will enjoy fruits of your labor. The quick and easy builds usually result in a short term oven that wets your appetite for something more durable and sustainable. Your mileage may vary.
The cost of living continues to skyrocket, and yet it remains a popular choice.

After reading your reply, I think I might end up going with another, more complicated design, but if it able to last longer and cook better it will be worth it. Thanks!

I built a clay oven somewhat similar to that, though with better insulation, and it works great. I wrote about the build and about baking in it, and materials, costs, etc. here:
