Over the course of the summer I built this earth oven. The interior dimensions of the dome are 28" across by 18" high. It's on a heavily insulated base under a steel roof. So far I've made about 50 pizzas in it plus some other items and it works great! All together the project wound up costing me less than $100! Pretty much everything is salvaged or scrounged. The only things I couldn't make or find were firebrick and some hardware like hinges. While I was building it the neighbors driving by were dying to know what it was! Some thought it might be a rabbit hutch or a beehive! Eventually, they couldn't take it anymore and stopped to ask. Now they just want to place orders for pepperoni pizzas.... LOL
