  • questions before starting my build

I am getting ready to start my build. I am planning on homebrew 3:1:1:1:0.5 sand, portland, hydrated lime, fireclay. I plan on using polypro burnout fibers and AR fibers. My question is how much of the burnout fiber and how much of the AR fiber should be used in the mix?

Thanks for the help, and thanks for all of the great info that I have already read in this forum. I plan on taking photos and documenting my build, to try to add to all of the great info already here.

Review David S posts via search function. He addresses the use of AR fibers and he is our resident cast expert.

      Hi Daniel,

      Try here.

If you go to the Other Ovens and search for cast/homebrew cast ovens there are some well documented builds there, which should give you plenty of food for thought and planning.
Happy to answer any other questions you might have.

Thank you David. I knew I had read it somewhere but was having a hard time finding it.

No problems. Be sure to start a build thread so others can chime in and learn from your experience.
