  • Homebrew cast, 711 mm width,

I just finished the final color stucco coat over the dome. I still need to finish the landing/entryway and seal the stucco and concrete well. I'm beginning to realize the opening is a little small for some of the pans I'd like to use.

I'd like to open up the archway a little more, 3/4 inch on each side, but don't want to mess with the overall function of the oven. I have a concrete grinder attachment that fits a 15K RPM metal cutting tool. The internal most arch has a good 2 inches on the left and right sides (see Archway picture). I would like to be able to remove 3/4 inch of the left and right side of the oven arch. Should I try to trim down the casting? Your thoughts?

    Current measurements:

Internal oven diameter: 71 cm (28")
Internal oven height: 39 cm (15.5")
    Opening height: 25.5 cm (10")
    Opening width: 33 cm (13")

I didn't hear back from anyone, so I shaved the sides of the gallary arch down by 5/8 inch on both sides, which makes it easier to put cookware into and out of the oven.
