  • How to for a hearth of ferrocement

    Hi,

I have recently completed a project using ferrocement that was inspired by a thread on Forno Bravo in the Outdoor fire place Design. Specially contributor Cvdukes convinced me that it could be done.

I realize that this is not technically an oven (although it could be) but I think that many of the lessons learned while making my Chimenea from ferrocement could be helpful for oven builders who want to use this material.

My wife saw me using the Forno Bravo site and now insists that version 2.0 of my chimenea will double as an outdoor oven ;-)

A very extensive how-to, which much attention to material and construction considerations can be found on Instructables.com.

For links to the Instructables.com article and to continue the valuable discussion about ferrocement , please follow this link to the "Outdoor Fire Place Design" section:

I hope you enjoy the story and might find the information useful.

    Matt
