  • is 10" diameter too big?

    Hello

I'm building a 42" dome. The 'plans' say I should use a 8" diameter chimney. However, I was wondering if 10" will also work or is it too big?

    Any advice will be appreciated

    Thanks

If you follow the plans especially for your oven entrance dimensions, I don't see any problems. Having said this, the smoke and hot fumes will exit a little easier but may be a little too easy. I have a 40" Pompeii with an 8" flue which works an absolute treat. 10" to me is a little generous but if you have the materials or can acquire them easier or cheaper, then I say run with it.
