Sand in between oven floor bricks?

I just finished laying my oven floor bricks and am getting ready to start the dome. Am I supposed to spread the fine sand over the brick floor to fill in the minute spaces between bricks and to hold them in place or just leave them as they are. If I already spread the sand in between the bricks is that a problem???

You can put sand in the voids between the hearth bricks or just wait until you fire the oven and ash fills them. No problem. Send us some pictures.
