Thanks Bob, cuts didnt look like yours...

But, they are in and managed to keep the chain in line.

Have some thicker mortar joints than i was hoping for on the inside of the dome.

    Here are some photos.

managed to close the dome and finish the outer arch.

have had a couple curring fires, now its time to anchor the chimney plate!

I would be most concerned about those big joints near the crown of the oven if it was mine.
Mortar joints are the weak point in any oven as they break down with heat, maybe slowly, but they do break down whereas firebrick is much slower to break down.
The bigger the joint the faster it will break down.

My oven has no mortar joints exposed to the fire whats so ever, all you see is fire brick.

Nice work, Chris. As good or better than some I've seen posted. Use your oven with confidence for the next three or four decades (or longer).

          Cheers,
          Bob

As long as there are more brick than mortar it will be ok.

                Hey Crash,
                Nice build so far.......
I'm in Vegas and have been wanting to do one for years and looks like im finally gonna be able to start.
So my question is: where did you get the firebricks?
I can't seem to find them any closer than LA....
