  • How many rows ahould I have for a 42" oven?

I wanted to check if anyone knew the number of rows of bricks it would take for a 42" oven with the soldier row being a full brick with the top cut at a slight angle?

I had 13 including the plug. I didn't do a soldier so you are probably looking at 12.

      Here's what I had:
8 on TOP of a soldier course (cut about an inch at a 10 deg angle) shown in this pic and then there where 3 rows that where almost vertical then a "larger" keystone. That equals 11 on a tall soldier.

If you went with a tighter final keystone (ie: a smaller one) then it would have added another row.

BTW: Don't get lazy like me and line up any joints. Try to avoid it; but it happens to the best of us.

Thanks guys. I'm at 6 not including my soldier row. Just tied into the arch.

Les I've seen your thread and you have a beautiful dome. I like the big plug that looks almost like a full brick.

I had eleven rows on top of the soldier and then a ten faceted keystone.
