  • chimney question

Does anyone have a close up top view of the chimney opening being built into the dome oven? Size for opening on a 41 inch dome oven, or at least real good picture of the installation process.
    Thanks
    Bill

    (M) I'm not sure if the following link will serve your purpose but try:

    (M) Here is a source for my own solution:

    (M) My vent picture seems to have been removed from the photoplog.

      Re: chimney question

      Hi.

I have a few pics of my progress at that point, and could post more if helpful. The opening in my arch is (from memory) 3" x 14". It was actually a little wider than the flue pipe I got and I had to fill the edges a bit. I wanted a smaller opening than the flue itself, after reading about Rumford fireplaces and smoke accelerating through a smaller opening into a larger one.

I don't think I get smoke coming out the front of the oven, and I don't even have a draft door. Interesting because before I put the flue tiles on, smoke just poured out the front. I need to use acid to clean those bricks so that I can truly see if I have any smoke escaping. I'm very happy with it.

I found the flue tiles were much cheaper than chimney pipe as well. Spent something like $70 on the whole chimney.
