    Help regarding dome covering

    ust a quick one.
    Just completed the dome using firebricks and fire cement. To fill any remaining joints to the external face of the bricks I have applied a fireclay and sand mix to smooth over the dome.
    This is prior to application of fire blanket and external render.

    Was the fireclay and sand mix a good idea or will it cause problems?
