Try to trickle water in and around the form work and the ground around. Rig up some shade.

It is critical that the concrete not be allowed to dry out for at least the first seven days.

    just poured my slab

So this is a little last minute, but I just poured my hearth slab (brought in a truck) about two hours ago. It was in shade until about an hour and a half ago, now it's starting to get direct sunlight, going up to 87 degrees F today. WHen should I cover it and start to spray it with water? The guy who delivered the concrete sait to start tomorrow morning, but now I'm starting to wonder if I should do it sooner. I just put on a packing blanket, then noticed it put very light marks in the finish, so I removed it, since I figured I should wait at least a bit longer.
Working...
