Dome Size

Question about dome size.....should I limit myself to either 36" or 42"? I am thinking 39" because my insulating board is 24" wide. If I place two of them side by side I will have 48" of insulation. Therefore, if I make the inside of the dome 39" and add 9" for thickness of the brick walls that gets me to the full 48". Assuming my hearth pad is large enough does anyone see any issues with this logic...I know it will take more bricks and mortar.....thoughts?

You can make the dome any size you choose. My oven has a 44 inch inside diameter because after I laid my foundation and calculated my insulation thickness that size would make best use of the available surface area.
