  • Anyone use red firebrick?

Does anyone have experience with red firebrick? The mason/tilesetter ordered them. They look like firebrick--no indents--and they have yellow flecks throughout the reddish base material. It's not too late to exchange them for yellow firebrick. Thanks!

I used red - my supplier had red or yellow and he said they were identical in terms of composition.

ditto on the red fire brick. i used splits ( 1 1/4 " high ) over 500 pieces in the dome worked great . used splits because we had them left from a huge job that required over 2550 fire brick .
