May your ovens not crack in the face of 900 deg heat... and may your first born inherit your left over firebrick!!

My first born is going to get three bricks then. Beats a lump of coal in her stocking, I guess.
Happy holidays!

Merry Christmas to all - My wood is cut, turkey and chicken ready, I start the bread dough tommorrow.......ahhh Christmas is nearly here.
For all those cooking in there ovens on Christmas day remember to snap a picture or two and maybe we can start a thread for what everyone got up to.

...my husband feels that way sometimes, too...
Bacterium, the camera is loaded, the oven ready to fire up, and my next post is going to be on how our turkey turned out.
Happy Christmas everybody! The last year would not have been half as good without this wonderful forum and all it members!

Dusty,
Yes, your assumption didn't make us donkeys this time. I have a daughter. The other two are from my wife's first marriage.
Don't forget the pics of your keystone.....any day now, huh?
Merry Christmas.

Re: Merry Chistmas to all the Pompeii Oven Builders!
Merry Christmas to all of you past, present, future or would-be oven builders here on the forum, and a huge thanks to James for creating this forum that provides such pleasure in connecting with oven enthusiasts from all corners of the globe!
I won't be cooking my turkey in the oven tomorrow due to lack of insulation (still in the box) and a sense that I just haven't used my oven enough to feel comfortable attempting it yet, however, that's OK, I'll be ready next year! As I tuck into my bird tomorrow, I'll be making a silent toast to all of you who are eating wood-fired turkeys (or whatever).
And to those of you who have made such terrific progress or completed your ovens in the last month or so, while I've been too busy to comment much or offer the encouragement I'd have liked to, I've been watching - so congratulations, whether you're done, or just at that next step!!
Have a great day tomorrow,
Sarah

Happy holidays to all. I agree that we have grown close over time (brick by brick, and hour by hour). Something funny that I just thought up, how about for next Christmas we have a gift exchange? Details can be figured out later. An excellent pizza is shared with the ones you love!
