My oven's done, so this is more than a day late and a dollar short, but...I've been thinking about the caulk I used to insulate the heat break between the oven and vent arch, Kaowool moldable. I tried to read the MSDS, but it's quite technical. Looked like there's no risk to "oral" contact, but I'm not sure I read it right. The caulk is exposed to the inside of the oven, so flakes could come off, and into the food. Has anyone done research and know if Kaowool is considered food safe, or if there is another kind that is? I suppose I could seal over the Kaowool with something more food safe. I believe silicone is considered food safe, but it won't withstand the oven heat.
