Cutting Isol

Gang,

Just got my Isol Board!!! Thanks Valerie at FB.

How do you cut this stuff? I'm assuming a standard jig saw with the corse wood blade? I'll wear Glasses, gloves and a respirator mask of course.

I am pouring a 3 1/2 thick perlite/cement layer first - mainly to bring my hearth height up. I know it's overkill but you can't have too much insulation

Hey Badger, I'm right behind you. I finished my perlite/cement layer yesterday, and am waiting for my isol board. Should be here by next weekend. I was hoping I could cut it with a dremel tool, but not sure yet if it will work.

I used my saws-all. I would think that just about any saw would work. The product is not hard to cut. It makes dust like no other

I used a product called insblok 19. If I recall, one surface has a little smoother finish than the other - I put that side up. It doesn't matter - it's the same material all the way through.
