If it helps you, I built an enclosure around my dome using metal studs and concrete fiber board. It was pretty cheap and will stand up to weather. I also used a stucco sealer to cover my fiber blanket. As it stands I have 2 inches of fiber board underneath the oven, I have 3 inches of fiber blanket with a 1 in rough stucco layer and a 4 inch door with two layers of extra fiber board in the door. I get 5 days of heat retention.
Darin I often cook with wine, sometimes I even add it to the food... WC Fields Link to my build http://www.fornobravo.com/forum/f8/4...-ca-20497.html My Picasa Pics https://picasaweb.google.com/1121076...eat=directlink

Impressive! I have a pretty similar build as well (minus the enclosure). 5 days of heat retention is IMPRESSIVE!
