  • No Weld Oven Door

With Thanksgiving coming up, I wanted to use the oven for some of the cooking, but I didn't have an oven door yet. Thought about a cheap, no welding plan. Looking around Lowes I picked up a couple of home fore sale sign brackets, some sheet steel, perlite, and steel rivets. I still had the form from years ago when the entry was built so traced the outline to a piece of board. Cut the sign using a skill saw with metal cutting blade and an electric grinder. Screwed the frame onto the board to get the shape right. Have to make 2 of these, put them together about 3-4 inches apart, fill with vermicrete, then rivet the steel sheet to the frame using some fireplace sealant I had laying around. I'll post more as I get further along.
