    Re: 36" Oven Construction Pics

So, out comes the wheelbarrow and hi strength concrete. Lots of it. And it was HOT that day!

But, once the forms were off, the result was just what I wanted.

next, I used my DA sander and silicone carbide paper in ever finer grits (100-600) to polish out the top and then applied a suede brown acid stain.

After staining, a penetrating sealer was applied, and then a couple coats of bees wax. I have to say, the look is pretty nice, and other than regular waxing, pretty hardy...

So were in the final stretch! Just need some plumbing, electrical, doors, paint, and landscaping... Funny how the small stuff takes the longest. The paint is a brown ragged over a white base. The doors are raw cedar.

Now, it's on to enjoying the work. It's finally in the 70s at night and this coming weekend looks like it has "PIZZA" written all over it! If you have any questions about the work, just shoot me a private message or use my email. I'll be happy to fill in any blanks! Happy pizza oven building and baking everyone!!!

My hat is off to you! that looks great. I love the way the countertops turned out. And the raw wood doors are a nice touch.

                      This gives me good ideas.

                      Thanks for posting

This is a great picture sequence.

Question on the styrofoam forms: Are they perfect semi-circles? Or do you account for width of the first chain of bricks standing on their end?

Funny how I missed this posting in October. I saw the originals during my readings early on, but never saw the finished kitchen. Gorgeous!
