Can I use both the wife and thin style fire brick to build the pizza dome

I’ve not seen any standard clay brick in the fire brick proportions at hardware stores. Brick yards do cary many sizes, but I have not tried to match the fire brick.

im not sure on using the splits. My gut tells me it’d be more prone to cracking, but I do not know.

I am running short on fire brick, but had a mix of the thin half bricks and full bricks. Am I able to build the dome with both sizes? Or at least do the soldier row with the thin, I might be able to finish it. Also does a common store like Lowe’s or Home Depot carry a normal red or other color brick that is the same size as a standard large fire brick.
