Re: The hearth questions and progress pictures

going to have to use long tools. it is about 12 inches longer than typical. hopefully it will work out......I did not account for the finished fashia in my planning. Maybe correct it on the next one. Anyone else have a longer tunnel that can comment?
    Thanks,

That is what I've meant - reach the center of the dome is not easy, and long tools makes easy only from one point of view - the longer the tool the more difficult to handle the log

Re: The hearth questions and progress pictures

Another Day complete. Got the flue run up today. I knew with the angle we had to move up and the fact that we had to keep the weight off the oven dome we were going to have quite a site inside the chamber taking up the chimney. We used Angle iron's to keep the weight off the dome.

Tomorrow hope to have it done so the roof can go on next week and then over the weekend we can finish up the stone. Thanks again everyone for the help. We are getting close.
        Thanks,

Well. We completed the chimney's and chimney cap today....final tuckpointing etc; we had our third fire in the oven and I hope to get my insulation on tomorrow.

I have hired a carpenter to put on the roof. Hopefully that will be done next week. The most expensive part of the project. We are really getting close. My son keeps telling me he is ready for the Pizza already! He loaded the wood underneath so we were ready to go.

Here are the pictures from the end of the day.
          Thanks,

What is the third flue used for?

The third flue is a fake and just to balance the way the chimney looks.
