    Re: Tony's Oven Build

Very nice, I like the look with different levels... Can't wait to see what it looks like without the forms!

I agree! The multiple levels really looks nice. This really caught my wife's eye. Please be sure to post follow up photos!

I really like that. What is the finish material going to be on the horizontal sections? Very cool.

            Re: Tony's Oven Build

I am going to frame metal studs with wonderboard around the perimeter. Then create trusses up from there to the chimney and cover it with galvanized roofing. Plan have have the roof come forward about a 1 - 1.5 feet in front of the oven. THen cover all the wonderboard with split bricks. Roofing has a slate shake look to it.

I think it will look OK.

              Re: Tony's Oven Build

The forms are off and I made a door of sheet metal about 2 inches thick. Filled it with vermiculite and painted it a copper color (high temp paint).

Door turned out OK but I am not too happy with it. Going to have to maybe try again and use so of the left over fibre board instead.

Next is the roof structure but weekend is here but weather is not co-operating.

                Hey Tony,
That looks great. How long since the dome was complete are you going to wait before you start your firing your oven.

Was waiting to finish it. I keep it covered so too difficult to fire it up.

                    Re: Tony's Oven Build

Very cool! I can just see the oven with various bottles of beer and/or red wine, glasses and plates of pizza sitting on all those ledges. You'll certainly find those very useful. And they look great, too!

                      Re: Tony's Oven Build

Metal roof is on. Unfortunately I had to cover up the 2nd tier of platforms with the roof but I think it came out all right.

Well the roof is completed and as well the outer cement board and tile work. only thing left is the grouting.

I fired it up 3 times so far.

Sunday: Roof up to 300 F
Monday: Roof up to 480 F
Tuesday: Roof up to 630 F

                        So far so good.
