    Re: Tony's Oven Build

    Tony,
Very cool looking, what is the size of your Hearth slab ? Mine is 48 x 48 and plan a 30 in dome oven (revised). I am guessing thats a 8 in clay pipe, about 36 in long, am I correct? Also, what size are the ledges?
    thank you !

      Re: Tony's Oven Build

The hearth slab is around 60x80 (I forget the actual measurements and would have to go measure to be exact). My oven is around 40-42" inside diameter (again I'd have to go measure as I do not recall the exact measurement I went with). The clay pipe is actually 8x12 and I have 4FT in there. I was going to go 8x8 but a brick layer at the store just happen to be there when I was there buying my stuff and he told me 8x8 would be too restrictive. You know what, I am glad I went 8x12. I know my previous oven was an 8x8 and I used to get some some out on the facade. The ledges are only about 1" when all the enslosure is on. The less the better as far as I am concerned so there is no ledge for water or snow to sit on and leach under the exterior.

      Good luck with your build.
