    Re: Vermiculite ?

    Thanks,
My slave labor will be home from college over Thanksgiving and I want to make sure I've laid in supplies. Appreciate your help!

    Re: Vermiculite ?

I would go with the lighter Vermiculte.

Less dense is better. At the end of the day, it's the air inside the vermiculte that provides the insulation - the hard material just keeps the air from moving.

Sounds like you're at a great stage if you are already buying vermiculte.

    Vermiculite ?

I was getting ready to order the vermiculite and noticed two different grades.
For 4 cubic feet, the grade 2 is finer and weighs 26 pounds. 4 cubic feet of grade 4 is coarser and weighs 19 pounds. Is the weight an issue if your oven up to par otherwise? Is denser insulation more efficient?

    Thanks
