I agree with Dmun. The important thing is it works. I think I'm the only one who notices my brickwork. I ended up using two rows of "red" bricks so it would look neat but I don't think anyone has even noticed... I had issues with the top of my dome so I covered it with HS (probably not ideal) but I haven't had any trouble with it flaky off - after 1 year and probably 100+ pizzas.
I'll think you'll be fine.

Worst case scenario, if those points actually end up interfering with your getting things in and out of the oven, you could go in and gently knock the corners off of them with the chisel or brickset.
