  • Hearth not perfectly level?

We poured our hearth yesterday and we thought we had it level. But today all the corners are about 1/2" low. My husband says it's fine. Should I be worried?
Should we add more concrete/vermiculite to those low places?

    Perfect.

In the pacific northwest you want to allow for drainage if water gets in. I'm north of you on Vancouver Island, I allowed for 1/2 inch slope back to front on my oven.

It will just take a little more work (and sand/fireclay) to get the floor level. Press on.
